Liu Xinhong

Joseph Liu Xinhong (刘新虹; * um 1945) ist seit dem 3. Mai 2006 Bischof von Wuhu der Chinesischen Staatskirche, Chinesische Katholisch-Patriotische Vereinigung. Aufgrund seiner Nähe zur kommunistischen Partei meldete der Vatikan schon frühzeitig Bedenken an, welche ihn dazu bewogen hatten, eine Weihe schon im Februar abzulehnen. Ein gesteigerter Druck seitens der Staatsführung führte dann doch zu seiner Weihe ohne vorherige Genehmigung durch den Vatikan. Dies führte dem Kirchenrecht folgend zu seiner Exkommunikation durch die römisch-katholischen Kirche.[1]
