Es wird überwiegend als Weide- bzw. Ackerland genutzt und ist 5.945 km² groß. Die Einwohnerzahl liegt bei etwa 231.000.[1] Die Hauptstadt der Provinz ist Siteki. Lubombo liegt im Osten Swasilands und grenzt an alle anderen Distrikte, an Südafrika und im Osten an Mosambik. Seinen Namen hat der Distrikt von den Lubombo- oder Lebombobergen.
