Makruh

Als makruh (arabisch ‏مكروه‎, DMG makrūh) bezeichnet man im Islam Handlungen, deren Tun nach religiöser Auffassung unbeliebt ist und die deshalb vermieden werden sollten. Nach islamischer Überlieferung wird der Muslim zwar für das Ausführen unbeliebter Handlungen nicht bestraft, für ihr Unterlassen hingegen jedoch belohnt.

Zu den unbeliebten Taten zählen beispielsweise die Verschwendung von Wasser (u. a. bei den rituellen Waschungen) und das Missachten von beliebten oder bevorzugten Taten – sowohl während der Gottesdienste als auch außerhalb derer.

Allgemein wird jede Übertreibung in einer Tat als unbeliebt angesehen.

Ebenso ist das Rauchen nach einigen Gelehrten mindestens makruh, andere wiederum bezeichnen es sogar als haram.
