NaSSA

NaSSA (auch NSSA) ist die Abkürzung für noradrenergic and specific serotonergic antidepressant (dt.: Noradrenerges und spezifisch serotonerges Antidepressivum), einer Gruppe von antidepressiven Psychopharmaka. Sie greifen in ein komplexes System der Signalübertragung im Gehirn ein, das auf dem Wechselspiel einer Reihe von Neurotransmittern beruht.

NaSSA binden an Bindungstellen (Rezeptoren) für die biogenen Amine Noradrenalin und Serotonin, die normalerweise in einer Rückkoppelung die Freisetzung dieser Transmitter an den Nervenendigungen hemmen. Unter dem Einfluss von NaSSA steigt die Konzentration der Transmitter an. Darin ähnelt die Wirkung der NaSSA derjenigen von SNRI-Antidepressiva (Selektive Noradrenalin- und Serotonin-Wiederaufnahmehemmer). Sie haben jedoch deutlich weniger anticholinerge Nebenwirkungen und gleichzeitig deutlich stärkere antihistaminerge und sedierende Wirkung.

Das erste NaSSA Mianserin wurde 1967 von Organon (Tolvin®) patentiert und ist als Generikum im Handel.[1] NaSSA werden zur Behandlung der Depression (Antidepressiva) eingesetzt. Sie zählen zu den sogenannten „neueren Antidepressiva“.
