Outlet

Ein Outlet ist im deutschen Sprachraum eine Verkaufsstelle, in der Waren aus nicht mehr aktuellen Kollektionen, B-Ware, also Ware mit leichten Fehlern oder Mängeln, Rückläufer des Handels oder Ware aus Überproduktionen angeboten werden.

Im Gegensatz zum Fabrikverkauf wird ein Outlet nicht zwingend vom Hersteller der Waren betrieben. Die korrekte englische Übersetzung von Fabrikverkauf ist Factory-Outlet oder Outlet-Store. Der Begriff Outlet wird im Englischen einerseits übersetzt mit Abfluss oder Ablauf oder aber mit Absatz- oder Verkaufsstelle.
