Propanole

Propanole sind Alkohole mit drei Kohlenstoffatomen und einer Hydroxygruppe (−O−H). Sie haben die allgemeine Summenformel C3H8O und eine molare Masse von 60,10 g/mol. Es gibt nur zwei Isomere:

  • 1-Propanol oder n-Propanol (manchmal wird dieses Isomer auch einfach Propanol genannt)
  • 2-Propanol oder Isopropylalkohol; IPA, die verbreitete Bezeichnung "Isopropanol" ist inkorrekt und nach IUPAC-Regel C-201.1 unzulässig
