Rocky Mount ist eine Stadt im US-Bundesstaat North Carolina der USA. Die Stadt liegt auf der Grenze zweier Countys. Teile der Stadt gehören daher zum Nash County, Teile zum Edgecombe County.

Die Gemeinde wurde offiziell am 19. Februar 1867 gegründet. Das Gemeindegebiet war jedoch schon zu Beginn des 19. Jahrhunderts besiedelt; das erste Postamt eröffnete 1816.

1996 wurde die Stadt Battleboro nach Rocky Mount eingemeindet.

2000 hatte die Stadt 55.893 Einwohner. Das Stadtgebiet erstreckt sich über 92,7 km².
