Mit Awareness (engl. „Bewusstsein“ oder „Gewahrsein“, auch übersetzt als „Bewusstheit“, zur Betonung der aktiven Haltung, ferner auch „Aufmerksamkeit“) kann gemeint sein:

  • das Bewusstsein der Öffentlichkeit für ein Thema; siehe Public Awareness
  • das Bewusstsein gegenüber den Situationsbedingungen; siehe Situational Awareness
  • im Datenschutz: das Bewusstsein für den Umgang mit Informationen; siehe Information Awareness
  • in der Informationssicherheit auch Security Awareness: Das Bewusstsein der Anwender, am PC Gefahren, Angriffen und Risiken ausgesetzt zu sein; siehe Informationssicherheit
  • im Marketing: die einem Konsumenten bekannten Produkte/Marken; siehe Awareness Set
  • in der Informatik:
    • das Bewusstsein einer Anwendung eines Computers für alle Eigenschaften ihrer Umgebung; siehe Kontextsensitivität (Informatik) (Context Awareness)
    • bei (der Unterstützung) kooperativer Arbeit (CSCW) das Gewahrsein über die Aktivitäten der anderen Kooperationspartner; siehe Awareness (CSCW)
  • bei Selbstverteidigung und Kampfsport: das Bewusstsein für die Möglichkeit der (verdeckten) Bewaffnung eines Angreifers; siehe Knife Awareness
  • in der Psychologie: ein Synonym für Aufmerksamkeit und Achtsamkeit; siehe Emotional Awareness
  • in der Gestalttherapie: sowohl eine absichtslose, aktive, innere Haltung der Aufmerksamkeit/Achtsamkeit, als auch eine mehr gerichtete Form der Aufmerksamkeit/Achtsamkeit, die sich auf alle Phänomene der Wahrnehmung und des Erlebens bezieht
