Rotax-914

BRP-Rotax ist ein österreichischer Motorenhersteller mit Sitz in Gunskirchen (Oberösterreich). Es ist ein Tochterunternehmen der kanadischen Firma Bombardier Recreational Products (BRP).

Die Firma wurde 1920 in Dresden als ROTAX-WERK AG gegründet, 1930 durch die Fichtel & Sachs AG übernommen und nach Schweinfurt verlegt. 1943 siedelte das Unternehmen nach Österreich über und wurde 1970 vom Bombardier-Konzern gekauft. Rotax produziert Hochleistungsmotoren für Schneeschlitten, Jet- und Sportboote, Geländefahrzeuge (ATVs und Quads), Roadster und für Motorräder der Hersteller Aprilia, BMW, Buell (Helicon-V2) und MZ sowie für leichte Sportflugzeuge, Ultraleichtflieger und Karts.
