Sam Mitchell

Samuel E. Mitchell Jr. (* 2. September 1963 in Columbus, Georgia) ist ein US-amerikanischer Basketballtrainer und ehemaliger Spieler. Er war zuletzt Cheftrainer bei den Toronto Raptors in der US-Profiliga NBA (2004–2008). Zwischen 1990 und 2002 war er selbst als Spieler bei den Minnesota Timberwolves (1990–1992, 1996–2002) und Indiana Pacers (1993–1995) aktiv.

Unter Mitchell's Leitung gewannen die Raptors in der Saison 2006/07 ihren ersten Divisionstitel der Atlantic Division. Nach der regulären Spielzeit wurde er mit dem NBA Coach of the Year Award ausgezeichnet.
