Schlock Mercenary ist ein im Science-Fiction-Genre angesiedelter von Howard Tayler gezeichneter und geschriebener fiktionaler Webcomic.

Die Handlung verfolgt die Geschichte der Privatsöldnermannschaft um Kapitän Kaff Tagon. Namensgeber des Comic ist die Amorphkreatur Schlock.

Veröffentlichung

Die erste Ausgabe erschien am 12. Juni 2000. Inzwischen sind über 1000 Strips im Internet erschienen. 2007 und 2008 erschienen zehn Sammelbände des Comics.

Auszeichnungen

  • Der Comic gewann bei den Web Cartoonists' Choice Awards 2001 einen Preis für den besten Cameo-Auftritt und 2004 für den besten Science-Fiction-Comic. Er wurde zwei weitere Male für den Preis nominiert.
  • 2009 wurde er für den Hugo Award nominiert.
