Shahryar

Shahryar oder auch Schahrjār ist ein männlicher iranischer Vorname. Aus dem persischen übersetzt bedeutet er „Großer König“. In der Literatur taucht der Name in der Geschichte von 1001 Nacht auf.

Der Name „Shahryar“ ist nicht zu verwechseln mit „Schari'a“, dem islamischen Recht. Andere Schreibweisen für Shahryar sind: Shahriar oder Schahryar. In der Geschichte von 1001 Nacht ist Shahryar der fiktive Sassaniden-König, der sich von Scheherazade Geschichten erzählen lässt.
