SRI (von en:System of Rice Intensification, auch SICA von es:Sistema Intensivo de Cultivo Arrocero) ist eine Anbaumethode für Reis, die 1983 von dem Jesuitischen Mönch Henri de Laulanie in Madagaskar beschrieben wurde. Der Leiter des International Institute for Food, Agriculture and Development der Cornell University, Norman Uphoff, trug ab 1997 maßgeblich zur Etablierung der Methode in Asien bei.
Die Regierungen der größten Reisexportierenden Nationen (China, Indien und Indonesien) unterstützen die Verbreitung der Methode. In Indien konnten die Konzepte auch auf den Zuckerrohr-, Fingerhirse- und Weizenanbau übertragen werden.
Die Methode ist nicht unumstritten. Sie sei in einem Maß zu arbeitsaufwändig, das den Mehrwert an Ertrag und an Ressourceneinsparungen nicht aufwiegt. Fallstudien, die dieses Verhältnis untersuchten, wurden Ungenauigkeit unterstellt. Eine andere Kritik führt die Erfolge der Methode auf eine spezielle Bodenbeschaffenheit in Madagaskar zurück. Andererseits wird auch angemerkt, dass diese Kritik auch Ausdruck von wirtschaftlichen Interessen seien könnte.
