Taxman ist ein Lied der Beatles. Text und Komposition stammen von George Harrison, der das Stück auch sang. Das Lied erschien als Eröffnungstrack auf dem 1966 erschienenen Beatles-Album Revolver. Es war das erste Album der Beatles, dessen erste Komposition nicht von John Lennon und/oder Paul McCartney stammte.

Harrison schrieb den Song angeblich als ironische Reaktion auf die von ihm als zu hoch empfundenen Grenzsteuersätze, von bis zu 95 % für Gutverdiener (die Beatles verdienten mittlerweile alle über eine Million Pfund im Jahr).[1] Taxman wurde im April und Mai 1966 in den Abbey Road Studios in London aufgenommen.[2] Der Part der Leadgitarre wurde von McCartney eingespielt. Harrison spielte die Rhythmusgitarre, Starr steuerte Schlagzeug und Perkussion bei und McCartney die Bassline, während Lennon den Song auf dem Tamburin begleitete. Die Backing Vocals stammen von Lennon und McCartney.
