Travel Value

Travel Value ist die seit 1999 gebräuchliche Bezeichnung für Ladengeschäfte im Wartebereich für Passagiere innerhalb eines Flughafens.

Hintergrund

Bei Reisen innerhalb der EU darf seit dem 1. Juli 1999 nicht mehr steuerfrei eingekauft werden. Seit diesem Tag heißen die Flughafenshops in Deutschland daher Travel Value & Duty Free. Dort werden die Waren für alle Reisenden zum gleichen Preis verkauft. Bei Passagieren, die einen innereuropäischen Flug antreten, trägt der Einzelhändler die Steuerlast. Eine Ausnahme bilden aufgrund der Banderolenpflicht die Tabakwaren: Sie dürfen bei innereuropäischen Reisen nur versteuert und verzollt erworben werden.

Die Shops werden in Deutschland vom Handelsunternehmen Gebr. Heinemann betrieben.

Weiterhin steuerfrei einkaufen kann man jedoch beispielsweise auf Fahrten nach Helgoland (Deutschland) oder zu den Kanalinseln, da sie nicht zum Zollgebiet der Europäischen Gemeinschaft zählen.
