U.S. Robotics (zwischenzeitlich 3Com, dann Palm Inc., später palmOne, jetzt wieder Palm) ist ein Unternehmen der IT/TK-Branche, das 1976 in den USA gegründet wurde. Der Hauptsitz des Unternehmens befindet sich in Schaumburg, Illinois.

U.S. Robotics war ein Pionier auf dem Gebiet der Entwicklung und Herstellung von analogen Modems.

Heute ist das Unternehmen weiterhin ein Anbieter von Netzwerkprodukten; durch den technischen Fortschritt hat sich die Produktpalette entsprechend verändert. Neben analogen Modems werden Produkte für den Bereich DSL/Breitband, WLAN und Sonstiges für die Vernetzung von Privatanwendern und kleinen Unternehmen hergestellt.

U.S. Robotics bei Isaac Asimov

In Isaac Asimovs Geschichten gibt es auch eine Firma mit dem Namen U.S. Robotics. Diese wurde 1982 unter dem Namen U.S. Robot Company gegründet. U.S. Robotics ist der führende Hersteller für Roboter.

Die reale Firma wurde nach Asimovs Unternehmen benannt.
