Belfast Blitz

Als Belfast Blitz wird der Nachtangriff der deutschen Luftwaffe gegen Belfast während des Zweiten Weltkriegs bezeichnet.

Der Angriff wurde am 15. April 1941 durchgeführt. Durch diesen Angriff, der von 200 Bombern durchgeführt wurde, starben rund 1000 Menschen – der größte Verlust außerhalb Londons während eines einzigen Angriffes. Mehr als die Hälfte der Häuser der Stadt wurden vernichtet. 100.000 der rund 400.000 Einwohner wurden bei diesem Angriff obdachlos.
