Quellfluss des Ob

Der Bija (russisch Бия) ist ein Fluss in Russland, in der Region Altai.

Zusammen mit dem Fluss Katun ist er einer der Quellflüsse des Ob, von beiden ist er der kleinere.

Der Bija entspringt dem Telezker See im Altai Gebirge. Von dort aus fließt er über rund 300 Kilometer in Richtung Nordwesten nach Bijsk, wo er auf den Haupt-Quellfluss des Ob, den Katun stößt. Fortan trägt der Fluss den Namen Ob.

Der Name Bija hat seinen Ursprung in der altaischen Sprache und steht für Mann.
