Business Mapping oder Digitales Mapping ist ein Synonym für computergestütztes Mapping.

Abgrenzung zum Mind Mapping

Business Mapping wird fälschlicherweise oft mit Mind Mapping gleichgesetzt. Es gibt jedoch wesentliche Unterschiede:

  • Nach den Prinzipien der Original-Mind-Map-Methode von Tony Buzan wird immer nur ein Schlüsselwort auf einen Zweig geschrieben; beim Business Mapping kann es auch ein ganzer oder zumindest ein halber Satz sein.
  • Beim Mind Mapping wird mit Stift und Papier gearbeitet, beim Business Mapping mit dem Computer.
  • Der Begriff Mind Map ist durch das Tony-Buzan-Center geschützt worden; es existieren Markenrechte für das Durchführen von Mind Map-Seminaren. Der Begriff Business Mapping ist nicht geschützt und wird oft auch in unterschiedlicher Bedeutung verwendet.

Software

Die bekannteste Business-Mapping-Software ist der Mindjet MindManager; es gibt jedoch noch eine ganze Reihe weiterer Programme, etwa Freemind. Tony Buzan hat die Mapping-Software iMindMap auf den Markt gebracht.
