Adrian Lamo (* 20. Februar 1981 in Boston, Massachusetts) ist ein Hacker, Sicherheitsanalyst, Journalist und Informant der US-Regierung.

Bekannt wurde er durch verschiedene Einbrüche in Netzwerke und die darauf folgende Verhaftung. Unter den von ihm gehackten Netzwerken waren The New York Times, Yahoo! News und Microsoft.

Aufsehen erregte Lamo, als er im Mai 2010 Bradley Manning, der sich ihm nach Lamos Aussagen in einem Chat anvertraut hatte, den US-Behörden als den Whistleblower der auf WikiLeaks veröffentlichten Irak-Kriegs-Videos meldete.[1][2] Wenn ein Gericht in den USA Bradley Manning schuldig spricht, droht ihm lebenslange Freiheitsstrafe oder auch die Todesstrafe.[3]
