Der Amateur Radio Emergency Service ARES ist eine Gruppe von speziell ausgebildeten Funkamateuren in den USA und Kanada. Die ehrenamtlichen Mitglieder unterstützen die öffentliche Infrastruktur in Notfällen durch Notfunk. Organisisiert und unterstützt wird der Dienst von der American Radio Relay League und Radio Amateurs of Canada.
