Crowley ist eine Stadt und Verwaltungssitz des Acadia Parish im US-amerikanischen Bundesstaat Louisiana. Crowley hat den Spitznamen „Amerikas Reis-Hauptstadt“, was damit zusammenhängt, dass Crowley lange Zeit das Zentrum des Reisanbaus in den USA war. Heute gibt es immer noch viele Farmer, die dort Reis anbauen. Außerdem hat Crowley eine überregional erfolgreiche Fußballmannschaft.

Im Jahr 2000 lebten in Crowley 14.225 Menschen; bis zur offiziellen Schätzung 2009 ging die Einwohnerzahl auf 13.878 leicht zurück.[1]

Geschichte

Crowley wurde 1887 von C.C. Duson und W.W. Duson gegründet. Die Stadt ist nach Pat Crowley benannt.
