Euro Cargo Rail (ECR) ist eine in Frankreich ansässige Bahngesellschaft, die zur britischen English, Welsh & Scottish Railway (EWS) gehört, der größten Güterbahn auf der Insel. Die EWS gehört zum Deutsche Bahn AG Konzern

Im Zuge der eher zögerlichen Öffnung des französischen Marktes für Konkurrenten der staatlichen SNCF ist ECR erst (nach SNCF und Veolia) die dritte französische Güterbahngesellschaft.[1] Das Unternehmen betreibt derzeit einige Verbindungen im Norden des Landes, vor allem zur Grenze nach Größbritannien in Calais und nach Belgien in Tourcoing und Dünkirchen.

Das Unternehmen verfügt derzeit über 4 als Class 21 bezeichnete MaK G 1206, ebenso viele Vossloh G 1000 BB, 20 Vossloh G 2000 BB und - als Rückgrat der Flotte 35 EMD JT42CWR (Class 66), von denen noch 60 weitere bestellt sind.

Mit drei Bombardier Traxx F140 AC und bestellten 20 Bombardier Traxx F140MS ist der Anteil an Elektrolokomotiven in der Flotte eher gering.
