Die German Films Service + Marketing GmbH (kurz: german films) mit Sitz in München ist das nationale Informations- und Beratungszentrum für den weltweiten Export deutscher Filme. Diese Auslandsvertretung der deutschen Filmbranche ist im Jahr 2004 aus der im Jahr 1954 gegründeten Export-Union des Deutschen Films hervorgegangen. Ihre Zuständigkeit erstreckt sich auf die Exportförderung für Spielfilme, Dokumentarfilme, Fernsehfilme und Kurzfilme.

Zu den Hauptaufgaben von german films gehören die enge Zusammenarbeit mit den Veranstaltern bedeutender Filmfestivals, die Organisation von Gemeinschaftsständen des deutschen Films auf internationalen Film- und Fernsehmessen, die Veranstaltung von Festivals des deutschen Films, die Publikation von Veröffentlichungen über das aktuelle deutsche Filmschaffen sowie die Exportberatung für deutsche Filmproduktionsgesellschaften.

Die german films ist der deutsche Vertreter im Netzwerk europäischer Filmorganisationen zur weltweiten Bewerbung des europäischen Films, der European Film Promotion. In dieser Funktion wählt es jährlich den deutschen Shooting Star des europäischen Films aus, der auf der Berlinale präsentiert und ausgezeichnet wird. Außerdem wählt eine Fachjury innerhalb dieses Unternehmens einmal im Jahr den deutschen Film aus, der in der Kategorie Bester fremdsprachiger Film für den Oscar kandidiert.
