World Archery Federation

Die World Archery Federation (WA) ist die weltweite Dachorganisation der meisten Sportbogenschützen.

Sie wurde 1931 in Polen gegründet. Zu ihren Aufgaben gehören die Ausrichtung internationaler Wettkämpfe und die Herausgabe und Überarbeitung eines einheitlichen Regelwerkes für den Bogensport. Sitz der WA ist Lausanne in der Schweiz.

Auf der Delegiertenversammlung 2011 wurde beschlossen die Fédération Internationale de Tir à l’Arc (FITA) in World Archery Federation umzubenennen. Für die Umbenennung stimmten 88 Prozent der anwesenden Delegierten.[1]
