Helen Oyeyemi

Helen (Olajumoke)[1] Oyeyemi (* 1984) ist eine britische Autorin nigerianischer Abstammung. Im westafrikanischen Nigeria geboren, zog sie mit vier Jahren nach London.

Ihr hoch gelobtes Erstlingswerk "Das Ikarus Mädchen" schrieb sie als 19jährige innerhalb von sieben Monaten noch vor ihrer Abschlussprüfung als Schülerin. Es ist bis heute in 14 verschiedene Sprachen übersetzt worden.[2] Oyeyemi studiert inzwischen Politologie und Sozialwissenschaften in Cambridge und hat zwei weitere Romane veröffentlicht.
