Der Howqua River ist ein Fluss in der Mitte des australischen Bundesstaates Victoria.

Er entspringt an den Westhängen des Mount Howitt im Alpine-Nationalpark, fließt nach Westen und mündet in den Lake Eildon, einen Stausee des Goulburn River.

Literatur und Film

Die Rolle des Billy Slim in Nevil Shutes Novelle The Far Country (nach der der gleichnamige Film (deutscher Titel: Über den Todespass) gedreht wurde) basiert auf der Figur des Fliegenfischers Fred Fry, der mehrere Hütten entlang des Howqua River baute und ein ruhiges Leben im Flusstal führte.
