Ein Catsuit ist ein einteiliges, eng anliegendes Kleidungsstück, das den Körper mehr oder weniger komplett umhüllt. Im Gegensatz zu einem Leotard ist ein Catsuit knöchellang und bedeckt die Beine, Zentais bedecken zusätzlich auch Kopf und Gesicht. Catsuits werden häufig zur Kostümierung oder Maskierung des Trägers genutzt, als Sportbekleidung eingesetzt oder finden bei Bluescreen-Aufnahmen in der Filmindustrie Verwendung.[1]

Materialien

Hergestellt werden diese Kleidungsstücke in der Regel aus elastischen Stoffen. Beispielsweise werden elastisch gewirkte Gewebe, Elastan-Mischgewebe wie Spandex oder Lycra, Spitze und Stretchsamt. Andere Stoffe sind beschichtet, so zum Beispiel Neopren oder Latex. In einigen Fällen werden auch unelastische Materialien verwendet: PVC für Lackkleidung sowie Leder oder Lederimitate.[2]
