International Institute of Political Murder

Das International Institute of Political Murder (IIPM) wurde im Dezember 2007 mit Sitz in Berlin und Zürich gegründet, um das deutsch-rumänisch-schweizerische Dokufictionprojekt Die letzten Tage der Ceausescus zentral zu koordinieren. Es ist die personell und künstlerisch erweiterte Folgeorganisation früherer Arbeitskollektive der Beteiligten, welche seit längerer Zeit mit Gesellschaftskomödien, dokumentarischen Stücken, Filmnovellen und Theorieevents in Deutschland und der Schweiz präsent sind (u. a. als Eisenring/Rau).

Spezielles Ziel des IIPM ist es, den Austausch zwischen Film, Theater, bildender Kunst, Belletristik und Forschung auf dem Gebiet des Reenactments - der Re-Inszenierung geschichtlicher Ereignisse - zu intensivieren und theoretisch zu reflektieren. Ausführliche Recherchearbeit in den Archiven und vor Ort bilden das Fundament, auf dem das Institut seine Projekte erarbeitet. In theatralen Installationen und semidokumentarischen Filmen werden historisch relevante Ereignisse dem Zuschauer zugänglich gemacht und innerhalb aktueller Diskussionszusammenhänge reflektiert. Dabei stehen internationale und transmediale Koproduktionen im Vordergrund, insbesondere mit Institutionen im mittel- und südosteuropäischen Raum. Das IIPM kooperiert u.a. mit der Universität Zürich, dem Institutul de Investigare a Crimelor Comunismului în România, dem Goethe-Institut Bukarest, der Konrad-Adenauer-Stiftung und dem Migros Kulturprozent. Historiker, Experten und Zeitzeugen unterstützen und begleiten die Arbeit des IIPM und tragen so zur Erforschung der jüngeren Geschichte bei.

Gründer des IIPM waren Autor, Journalist, Regisseur und heutiger Leiter des Instituts Milo Rau, die Schauspielerin Franziska Dick und die Grafikdesignerin Nina Wolters.[1] Weitere Kernmitglieder sind der Filmregisseur Marcel Bächtiger, der Dramaturg Jens Dietrich und die Regisseurin Simone Eisenring. Ein internationales Netzwerk von Ambassadoren aus Wissenschaft und Kunst, u.a. Thomas Kunze, Andrei Ujica und Res Bosshart stehen dem IIPM beratend zur Seite.
