John Steven Satterthwaite

John Steven Satterthwaite (* 11. August 1928 in Randwick) ist Altbischof von Lismore.

Leben

Der Weihbischof in Rom, Luigi Traglia, weihte ihn am 16. März 1957 zum Priester und wurde in den Klerus des Bistums Armidale inkardiniert. Paul VI. ernannte ihn am 6. März 1969 zum Koadjutorbischof von Lismore und Titularbischof von Thignica.

Der Erzbischof von Sydney Norman Thomas Kardinal Gilroy weihte ihn am 1. Mai desselben Jahres zum Bischof; Mitkonsekratoren waren Thomas Vincent Cahill, Erzbischof von Canberra und Goulburn, und James William Gleeson, Koadjutorerzbischof von Adelaide.

Nach der Emeritierung Patrick Joseph Farrellys folgte er ihm am 1. September 1971 als Bischof von Lismore nach. Von seinem Amt trat er am 1. Dezember 2001 zurück.
