Hintergrund

King John ist die älteste Shakespeare-Verfilmung der Filmgeschichte. Der Film entstand in Zusammenarbeit zwischen der American Mutoscope and Biograph Company und British Mutoscope. Regie führten Walter Pfeffer Dando, Laurie Dickson und William K. L. Dickson.

Der Film bestand ursprünglich aus vier Szenen, von denen nur ein Fragment erhalten geblieben ist, das im Nederlands Filmmuseum aufbewahrt wird. [1]
