Lowest In

Lowest In – First Out (engl. "niedrigstes herein – zuerst hinaus"), abgekürzt mit LOFO, bezeichnet jegliche Verfahren der Speicherung, bei denen diejenigen Elemente, die den niedrigsten Wert haben, als Erste aus dem Speicher entnommen werden. Das gegenteilige Prinzip wird als Highest In – First Out-Verfahren (HIFO) bezeichnet.

Weitere ähnliche Prinzipien sind die Verfahren First In – First Out (FIFO), Last In – First Out (LIFO).

Die preisabhängige LOFO-Methode geht davon aus, dass die am günstigsten hergestellten oder angeschafften Waren zuerst verbraucht bzw. verkauft werden. Dieses Verfahren führt zu einer hohen rechnerischen Bewertung der Lagerbestände. In der Bilanzierung ist es nicht zulässig, weil es gegen das Vorsichtsprinzip der GoB verstößt.
