Patrick Altham Kelly

Patrick Altham Kelly (* 23. November 1938 in Morecambe, England) ist römisch-katholischer Erzbischof des Erzbistums Liverpool in England.

Leben

Kelly war Seminarist am Päpstlichen Englischen Kolleg in Rom und empfing am 16. Februar 1962 die Priesterweihe. Er diente von 1962 bis 1964 als Priester in Lancaster. 1964 wurde er zum Dozenten für Theologie am St. Mary's College, Oscott, Birmingham ernannt. 1979 wurde er Rektor des College. 1984 wurde er von Johannes Paul II. zum 9. Bischof des Bistums Salford ernannt. Die Bischofsweihe spendete ihm am 3. April 1984 sein Amtsvorgänger Thomas Holand. Am 21. Mai 1996 wurde er zum Erzbischof von Liverpool berufen.
