Die Scottish Women's Premier League ist die höchste Spielklasse im schottischen Frauenfußball. Die Scottish Women's Premier League wurde nach dem Vorbild der Scottish Premier League durch den Schottischen Fußballverband eingeführt und nahm 2002 den Spielbetrieb auf. Rekordmeister ist das Team von Glasgow City, welches fünf Titel gewinnen konnte, die letzten vier davon in Folge.
Modus
Während eines Meisterschaftsjahres, das sich in eine Hin- und Rückrunde unterteilt, treffen alle zwölf Vereine der SWPL anhand eines vor der Saison festgelegten Spielplans zweimal aufeinander, je einmal im eigenen Stadion und einmal im Stadion des Gegners. Der Tabellenerste qualifiziert sich für die Champions League, und der Tabellenletzte steigt in die Scottish Women’s First Division, die zweithöchste Spielklasse im schottischen Frauenfußball, ab. Seit dem Ende der Saison 2008/09 spielt die Liga im Kalenderjahr, sodass im Jahr 2009 zwei Meisterschaften ausgetragen wurden.
