Windows Identity Foundation (WIF) ist eine Microsoft-Technologie, die APIs für ASP.NET- und WCF-Entwickler bietet. Diese kann verwendet werden, um Anwendungen zu programmieren, die für Claim-based Authorization und Federation geeignet sind.
Windows Identity Foundation wurde unter dem Codenamen Geneva Framework entwickelt und befindet sich aktuell in einem „Ready to Manufacturing“-Stadium. Windows Identity Foundation wird ab IIS6/Windows Server 2003 bzw. IIS7/Windows Vista unterstützt.
