Dalia Itzik (hebräisch ‏דליה איציק‎‎; * 20. Oktober 1952 in Jerusalem) ist eine israelische Politikerin und die erste weibliche Parlamentspräsidentin Israels.

Leben

Itzik entstammt einer aus dem Irak kommenden Familie. Bevor sie 1992 in die 12. Wahlperiode der Knesset gewählt wurde, war sie stellvertretende Bürgermeisterin von Jerusalem. Als Mitglied von Awoda (dt.: Israelische Arbeitspartei) war sie Ministerin für Handel und Umwelt und zuletzt für Kommunikation.

Am 28. November 2005 verließ Itzik die Awoda und trat in die von Ariel Scharon neu gegründete Kadima ein.

Wegen der Amtsunfähigkeit des Staatspräsidenten Mosche Katzav wurde Itzik am 25. Januar 2007 Israels erste weibliche amtsführende Präsidentin. Diese Aufgabe bekleidete sie bis zur Angelobung Schimon Peres' am 15. Juli 2007.

Sie wurde am 4. Mai 2006 als erste weibliche Parlamentspräsidentin der Knesset vereidigt.
