Dingwall (schott.-gäl. Inbhir Pheofharain) ist eine Kleinstadt mit etwa 4.910 Einwohnern (Schätzung 2004[1]) in den Highlands im Nord-Osten von Schottland. Es liegt am Cromarty Firth.

Verkehr

Hier gab es einst einen Nordsee-Hafen. Aufgrund von Verlandung liegt der Ort heute jedoch ein Stück landeinwärts.

Der Bahnhof von Dingwall ist ein Trennungsbahnhof in dem die Kyle of Lochalsh Line von der Far North Line abzweigt. Hier sitzt die Betriebsleitung für beide Strecken. Im Bahnhof von Dingwall ist eine Erinnerungstafel angebracht, die darauf hinweist, dass hier im Ersten Weltkrieg 134.864 Seeleute und Soldaten mit Tee versorgt worden seien.[2]
