Earl Grey ist ein britischer erblicher Adelstitel in der Peerage of the United Kingdom, der von der Familie Grey getragen wird.

Stammsitze der Familie waren Howick Hall und Fallodon Hall in Northumberland.

Verleihung

Der Titel wurde 1806 für General Sir Charles Grey geschaffen. Er war ein erfolgreicher Heerführer im Amerikanischen Unabhängigkeitskrieg und im Ersten Koalitionskrieg.

Nachgeordnete Titel

Die nachgeordneten Titel des Earl Grey sind: Viscount Howick, in the County of Northumberland, (geschaffen 1806) und Baron Grey, of Howick in the County of Northumberland (geschaffen 1801). Beide Titel gehören ebenfalls zur Peerage of the United Kingdom. Der Titel Viscount Howick ist der Höflichkeitstitel für den ältesten Sohn des jeweiligen Earls.

Weiterer Titel

Ferner führt der Earl Grey den Titel eines Baronets of Howick in the County of Northumberland. Dieser Titel, der zur Baronetage of Great Britain gehört, wurde 1746 für Henry Grey, High Sheriff of Northumberland geschaffen. Charles Grey, 2. Earl Grey, erbte die Würde 1808, als sein Onkel ohne männlichen Abkömmling starb.
