Earl Spencer ist ein erblicher britischer Adelstitel, der 1765 John Spencer verliehen wurde. Dessen Vater Hon. John Spencer war der jüngere Sohn von Charles Spencer, 3. Earl of Sunderland, und von Lady Anne Churchill, einer Tochter von John Churchill, 1. Duke of Marlborough, sowie Bruder von Charles Spencer, 3. Duke of Marlborough.

Nachgeordnete Titel sind: Viscount Althorp of Great Brington (1905), Viscount Althorp (1765), Viscount Spencer (1761), Baron Spencer of Althorp (1761).

Den Titel trägt heute Charles Edward Maurice Spencer, 9. Earl Spencer (* 1964), der Bruder von Lady Diana Spencer.
