Ex post

Ex post (lat. „aus danach“) ist die lateinische Bezeichnung für die Beurteilung aus nachträglicher Sicht. Dem Betrachter sind hier auch später ablaufende Vorgänge bekannt, die zu einem früheren Zeitpunkt noch nicht bekannt sein konnten. (Volksmund: hinterher ist man immer schlauer). Die Beurteilung ex post bildet den Gegensatz zur Beurteilung ex ante.

Sonstiges

In der Empirie spricht man von einem Ex-post-facto-Design oder nicht-experimentellen Design. Im Gegensatz zum experimentellen Design oder quasi-experimentellen Design verändert man nicht die Situation, sondern betrachtet nur „im Nachhinein“ einen Zustand.
