Florence Bascom (* 14. Juli 1862 in Williamstown, Massachusetts; † 18. Juni 1945, ebenda) war eine US-amerikanische Geologin.

Bascom untersuchte mineralische Kristalle, indem sie diese im Mikroskop betrachtete. Sie untersuchte zudem metamorphe Gesteine, Veränderungen von Bergen und wie Berggesteine zu Sand erodieren. Zu jener Zeit, zu der sie das College besuchte, war es in den USA keinesfalls einfach für Frauen, höhere akademische Grade zu erreichen. Bascom ließ sich davon jedoch nicht abhalten. So erwarb sie zwei Bachelor- und einen Master-Grad der University of Wisconsin und ein Ph.D. in Geologie der Johns Hopkins University. Sie war damit in den USA die zweite Frau überhaupt, die ein Ph.D. in Geologie erwarb. Bascom unterrichtete ab 1895 viele Jahre Geologie am Frauen-College Bryn Mawr. Sie sammelte Mineralien, Gesteine und Fossilien für das College und unterrichtete über die Jahre hunderte Studierende.
