Fort Nelson ist eine Stadt in der kanadischen Provinz British Columbia. Die Stadt ist Hauptort des Northern Rockies Regional District. Fort Nelson hat 4188 Einwohner, eine Fläche von 10.43 km² und liegt auf einer Höhe von 410 m.ü.M. Außerdem wurde der Fort Nelson River nach der Stadt benannt.
Fort Nelson liegt östlich der Rocky Mountains in der Peace River Region am Alaska Highway Kilometer 454. Der Wald, der die Stadt umschließt gehört zur großen kanadischen Taiga.
1805 errichtete die North West Company auf dem heutigen Stadtgebiet einen Handelsposten. Fort Nelson wurde zu Ehren von Horatio Nelson benannt, einem britischen Admiral. 1941 wurde der Flughafen Fort Nelson errichtet.
