Coleraine (irisch Cúil Raithin ) ist eine Stadt in Nordirland.

Coleraine liegt am Fluss Bann nahe der Mündung in den Nordkanal (englisch North Channel). Das touristische Motto ist Capital of the Causeway Coast.

Die Stadt hat 20.000 Einwohner (1999) und ist Verwaltungssitz des Bezirks (engl. borough) Coleraine mit 60.000 Einwohnern. Sie liegt 50 mi. von Belfast, 30 von Derry und 25 von Ballymena entfernt.

Bahnverbindungen gibt es nach Belfast und Derry. In der Stadt befindet sich seit 1968 der größte Campus der University of Ulster mit 6000 Studenten (1999).

Es gibt ein Theater, das Riverside Theatre.
