Gramophone Award

Die Gramophone Awards gelten als einer der wichtigsten Preise der klassischen Musik. Sie werden jährlich von der englischen Zeitschrift The Gramophone verliehen, die sie gar als "Oscars der klassischen Musik" verstanden sehen möchte. Monatlich wird von ihr zudem eine Editors Choice Gramophone vergeben.

Kritiker von The Gramophone , v. a. aus den USA werfen Gramophone ein zu große Affinität zu britischen Künstlern und der Musikindustrie, insbesondere der britischen Plattenfirma EMI vor.
