HMS Endurance

HMS Endurance ist der Name zweier Schiffe der Royal Navy. Beide Schiffe haben ihren Namen nach der Endurance, dem Schiff von Ernest Henry Shackleton bei seiner Imperial Trans-Antarctic Expedition im Jahr 1914.

  • Die erste HMS Endurance wurde 1967 angekauft, diente dann bis 1991 als Antarktispatrouillenschiff, bis sie wegen schwerer Schäden nach einer Kollision mit einem Eisberg ausgemustert werden musste.
  • Die zweite HMS Endurance, das derzeitige Antarktispatrouillenschiff, wurde 1992 angekauft und ist seit dem im Dienst der Royal Navy.
