Die Hash Browns [ˌhæʃˈbɹaʊnz] (von engl. hash „Gehacktes“ und brown „braun“) sind eine einfache Beilage aus Kartoffeln, bei der die rohen oder vorgekochten Kartoffeln in kleine Streifen geschnitten, geraspelt oder durchgepresst in heißem Fett als flache Fladen goldbraun ausgebraten werden.

Ein ähnliches Gericht ist das Schweizer Rösti; im Gegensatz zum Kartoffelpuffer enthalten Hash Browns kein Ei oder Mehl, die Bindung erfolgt ausschließlich durch die Kartoffelstärke.

Gibt man den Hash Browns weitere Zutaten wie Fleisch, Früchte oder Gemüse hinzu, spricht man von einem "Hash".
