Henry Sidgwick (* 31. Mai 1838 in Skipton, Yorkshire; † 28. August 1900 in Cambridge) war ein englischer Philosoph.

1883 wurde er Professor für Moralphilosophie an der Universität Cambridge. Er befürwortete höhere Bildung für Frauen und gründete zu diesem Zweck 1871 in Cambridge das Newnham College, dessen Direktorin 1892 seine Frau Eleanor (die Schwester des späteren Premierministers Arthur Balfour) wurde. Als Philosoph vertrat Sidgwick die Richtung des Utilitarismus und trug entscheidend zur Weiterentwicklung der utilitaristischen Moraltheorie bei. Henry Sidgwick brachte den Utilitarismus zu voller akademischer Reife.

1882 war Sidgwick ein Mitbegründer der Society for Psychical Research und bis 1884 deren erster (und 1888-1892 dritter) Präsident.
