AMEC ist ein britisches Bau- und Anlagenbau-Unternehmen mit Firmensitz in London.

Das Unternehmen ist sowohl im klassischen Bausektor tätig als auch im Bau von komplexen Anlagen für Erdöl- und Erdgasgewinnung und -veredelung, Energieanlagen und Bergbau. Es beschäftigt als Bauunternehmen rund 23.000 Mitarbeiter (Stand:Juli 2008). [1] AMEC ist im Aktienindex FTSE 100 gelistet.

AMEC entstand 1982 aus einer Fusion der Fairclough Group (gegründet 1883) und der William Press Group (gegründet 1913). 1988 erwarb AMEC die Matthew Hall Group. Die Unternehmen Ogden Environmental & Energy Services [2] und AGRA, Inc. wurden 2000 erworben [3].


AMEC MEDIA ist ein deutsches Unternehmen mit Hauptsitz in Leipzig und Niederlassungen in Berlin und Düsseldorf.

Die amec media GmbH ist ein Medienunternehmen, welches Services und Lösungen in den Bereichen Aussenwerbung und Riesenposter anbietet. Seit 1998 vermarktet amec Gerüstflächen in mehreren Städten Deutschlands als Werbeträger für Riesenposter.
