Judith Wright (* 31. Mai 1915 in Armidale; † 26. Juni 2000) gilt als eine der bedeutendsten australischen Dichterinnen des 20. Jahrhunderts.

Leben und Werk

Ihre verführerische Art weist typisch australische Merkmale auf, die nach dem Zweiten Weltkrieg in der Kunst berühmt wurden. Wright befasste sich mit der Beziehung zwischen Siedlern, Aborigines und dem Busch sowie mit Feminismus und anderen Themen.

Sie setzte sich auch intensiv für die homosexuellen Aborigines ein.
