Anadarko Petroleum ist ein US-amerikanisches Unternehmen mit Firmensitz in The Woodlands, Texas. Das Unternehmen ist im Aktienindex S&P 500 gelistet.

Anadarko Petroleum fördert und verkauft Erdöl und Erdgas an seine Kunden. Das Unternehmen beschäftigt rund 4.000 Mitarbeiter (2007) und erzielte 2007 einen Gesamtumsatz von 15,982 Milliarden USD. Hiervon entfielen jedoch 4,660 Milliarden USD auf außerordentliche Veräußerungen von Unternehmensteilen. Aus dem eigentlichen Verkauf von Erdöl und Erdgas erwirtschaftete Anadarko 2007 einen Umsatz von 11,232 Milliarden USD, nach 10,204 Milliarden im Vorjahr.[2] Anadarko Petroleum wurde 1959 gegründet. Das Unternehmen wird von James T. Hackett geleitet.

2006 wurden die Unternehmen Kerr-McGee Corporation und Western Gas Resources erworben. [3]

Anadarko hält 25 Prozent an der Bohrlizenz für das Macondo-Ölfeld in dem sich 2010 eine Ölkatastrophe ereignete[4]
